This was paired with another textbook for my sociology course, and this book was my favorite by far. If you need to go in-depth on a theory or an incident mentioned in the book, you will have to do some additional research.That being said, this book was my primary resource for clear comprehension of the basic concepts of any sociology theory that was used in the context of social deviance before I ventured into heavier research.The chapters are short and concise; I often felt like I attained a better understanding of a theory from a 3-5 page chapter in this book than I did in 15 page chapters in others. Even if you have a passing interest in the subject, this one is an interesting and valuable read.

Purchased for a social deviance class this book was well-written and easy to understand considering similar books in nature. It had lots of interesting information in it that I never knew before.
