I love the spiral binding, which is why I bought it, but I think a good idea would be to put the left-side puzzles upside-down so you don't have the spiral binding beneath your wrist. As to difficulty, well, that is fairly subjective, but I found they were challenging enough, although some I couldn't complete; I'd get nearly the whole thing done and then would get stuck. They do a lot with themes, and they also repeat a lot of clues from puzzle to puzzle. The pages are nice quality. The print is about medium.

Just the right amount of complexity to keep you interested and entertained. Next time I wouldn't order the series as the editors seem to use the same clues regularly. This to me is superior to the New York Times puzzles which require a dictionary and an atlas to work out the solutions. Bonus: additional facts listed with answers!

Challenging puzzles, solutions in the back of the book with page numbers mixed up to give us peekers time to reconsider cheating before committing the act :). Easy to carry, spiral bound for comfy solving---we ordered two of this series and going back to the page to order more. We loved his Annual Crossword Puzzle notepad, but since he discontinued it this year, we had to search elsewhere for our over-coffee fix in the AM.

I like this crossword book because it is challenging without being impossible for my mental capacity. I have purchased others that did not make sense to me or were too challenging or too easy.

Excellent volume just like the others in the series. Not too easy and not too difficult.

I’ve had several puzzles from this collection, but I have to say I’m disappointed in this newer (late 2017) copy. I’ve always enjoyed the cleverness and challenge of the puzzles, and even some tricky ones; this one is so very easy and simple it’s truly boring.

This was too difficult for me. A lot of clues are esoteric and I don't know the titles of a lot of songs. I could complete about half of each puzzle, and then gave up.

This is how I put myself to sleep each night. These are just challenging enough to not be boring, but not so hard that I can't do them at all. It's a perfect balance.
